Home-based businesses favour VoIP

People with home-based businesses are more likely to use VoIP than other residential users, according to research from IDC.It showed that 39.1 per cent of corporate home offices in the U.S. and 23.7 per cent of independent home businesses either utilise or are expecting to utilise VoIP ? while just 10.8 per cent of non-business residences are feeling the same way.IDC expects that this trend will continue in much the same way, with senior small business analyst Chris Hazelton commenting that home businesses will find many of VoIP's facets increasingly crucial.According to Teleclick he said: "Home offices will adopt VoIP communications at a faster rate than U.S. households overall. "Although cost savings are important, features such as convergence with mobile phones will be increasingly important to home offices in the long run."Over the next year home-based businesses will be twice more likely to adopt VoIP than other households, IDC said.
